Dramatic & romantic
Dunglass Estate is rather unusual in the sense that you really can have it all. Gothic history, mid-century modern comforts, acres of woodland and the famed Edinburgh to Berwick coastline on your doorstep. This versatile Estate has played host to intimate weddings and corporate away days alike.
ESTATE DETAILS
The poet Burns described the Estate as romantic and few would disagree today. Set in the heart of the estate is one of the finest 15th century Gothic churches still standing in Scotland. This unique half-ruined church has open windows flooding the building with light, and atmosphere is available in abundance. Located on the site of the original mansion house is Dunglass House, the family home and a fine example of the mid-twentieth century period.
It has been lovingly restored and refurbished over the years and together with the Stable Cottages and Laundry Cottage can provide guests with stylish dining spaces, impressive drawing room and exceptional level of contemporary comfort throughout. The grounds have to be explored to be fully appreciated. Wild and ancient woodland strolls beckon in every direction, there’s a ‘secret’ walled garden, plus acres of open space suitable for a wide range for outdoor activities. During the warmer months a large marquee is permanently arranged making events of any size a convenient possibility.
LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS
Aside from having its own ancient Gothic church, Dunglass Estate has ancient wild woodland, formal garden areas and close proximity to secluded beaches. The Estate has considerable experience welcoming both film and stills crews, and will happily work flexibly with you from recce to wrap.
